🟣 RoTW – What Exactly Are Shards?

I've been playing RoTW for a bit now and kept seeing references to "Shards", so I dug a little deeper and wanted to centralize the info here.

From what I understand so far:



🔹 What Are Shards?

Shards (Worldstone Shards) are a RoTW-specific consumable item.

They appear to be tied to the Terror system, allowing players to manually terrorize content rather than relying only on rotation.

Still confirming exact mechanics.



🔹 What Do They Do?

Based on current info:

  • They can terrorize an entire Act
  • Terrorized areas improve monster level scaling
  • Potentially tied to endgame progression systems

If someone can confirm exact in-game usage (right-click behavior, Act selection, etc.), I'll update this section.



🔹 Where Do They Drop?

Reports suggest:

  • Elite / Champion packs
  • Unique monsters
  • Possibly Terrorized zones specifically

Need confirmation on:
  • Do they drop in Normal?
  • Nightmare?
  • Hell only?
  • Does player count affect drop rate?



🔹 Open Questions

  • Are drop rates difficulty-scaled?
  • Is there a shard tier system?
  • Any MF interaction?
  • Are there different shard types?[/l]()
