First Warlock Impressions (Level 80 – Chaos Focused)I made my first Warlock yesterday and spent approximately 6 hours getting him rushed, leveled to 80, and geared using some spare expansion items.
Current Gear:• Shako
• Spirit Broad Sword
• Enigma (Mage Plate)
• Spirit Monarch
• Aldur's Boots
• Arachnid Mesh
• Magefist
• 2x Stone of Jordan
• Heart of Oak amulet
Probably not optimized specifically for a Warlock — I'm still learning the new item additions and interactions.
Skill Allocation (Chaos Focus):• Maxed: Ring of Fire, Flame Wave, Apocalypse
• 1 point in all prerequisites
• 0 points in Eldritch tree
• Demon Tree: 1 point in Consume (+ prerequisites), 1 point in Summon Tainted
This setup works relatively well. The damage output is strong and clear speed feels solid.
However, as expected, fire immunities are a noticeable weakness. That's the obvious hurdle with a pure fire route, so I'll need to either adjust the build to compensate or experiment with a different primary tree.
From my "nubbit" perspective so far — pretty solid. Clears fast. Feels powerful.
RoTW Changes I'm Loving:• Stash updates are fantastic.
– 5 additional personal stash tabs
– Separate tabs for gems, materials, and runes
• Loot filter (haven't fully figured it out yet — will report back when I do)
• Chronicles feature — essentially an in-game wiki for items. Brilliant addition.
• New item pool — lots to explore and learn.
Overall, I'm really enjoying it so far. Still much to learn, but the Warlock feels strong and fun.
If anyone has build suggestions, fire immunity solutions, or optimization tips — I'm all ears. Would love to hear your experiences as well.
